About The Client

Fieldbasket Grocery

A Seattle based online grocery and household essentials delivery brand on Shopify serving the Puget Sound region with same-day and next-day windows. Strong operations, weak organic surface for the aisle + product queries shoppers actually searched.

The Challenge

The site had a flat product catalogue, no proper collection structure, weak internal linking between aisles and products, and no supporting content for the delivery-window queries that convert.

Our Approach

The Strategy

STEP 01

Rebuilt the aisle + collection structure

Consolidated the flat product catalogue into a proper aisle x collection tree (produce, dairy, pantry, household) with real merchandising per aisle and per season.

STEP 02

Shipped delivery-window and neighborhood content

Built dedicated pages per delivery window (same-day, next-day, weekly recurring) and per neighborhood served, with transparent cut-off times and pricing.

STEP 03

Cleaned up product schema and inventory sync

Added proper Product + Offer schema to every SKU, wired real-time inventory into rendering so out-of-stock items dropped out of search results cleanly, and fixed the price-per-unit display for grocery buyers.

STEP 04

Tightened the first-order funnel

Rebuilt the collection page template around a persistent 'add to cart + delivery window picker' widget and cut the checkout to a single screen for the first-order buyer.

Inventory drift almost tanked the collection pages.

Real-time inventory sync between the warehouse and Shopify was drifting by up to 40 minutes, so collection pages briefly ranked for products that were already out of stock. I built a proper reconciliation job that ran every 10 minutes and added a graceful 'back in stock tomorrow' state, and organic conversion rate lifted from 2.4% to 3.4% inside six weeks.

" Paid was the only way we grew orders profitably. Search is now our lowest-CAC channel by a wide margin, and it compounds every week. "
