Clicks Nearly Doubled and Video Became a New Channel for a B2B Dental Manufacturer

Guided Excellence case study: intent realignment took organic clicks from 162 to 317 and CTR from 0.18% to 0.31%, while a video pipeline created 303 sessions on a channel that did not previously exist.

About The Client

Guided Excellence

A B2B manufacturer of custom surgical guides for dental implant procedures, selling to practising dentists rather than to patients. Founded by Dr. Zareh Baghoomian, DDS, a graduate of the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC with over 20 years in implant dentistry. The workflow runs through a secure online portal: the dentist uploads CBCT scans and treatment details, Dr. Baghoomian personally reviews and finalises every case plan rather than handing it to a technician, and the guide is manufactured by high-precision 3D printing and shipped to the practice. The technology stack combines 3D cone beam CT scanning, CAD/CAM design, digital impressions, and 3D printing. Guides support single implant, multi-unit, and full-arch cases, with plans starting at $150. The clinical value proposition is control over angulation, depth, and positioning, which reduces nerve injury and sinus perforation risk and cuts chair time.

The Challenge

The prior period showed 88,715 search impressions producing 162 clicks. A click-through rate of 0.18% is not an underperformance signal, it is a targeting signal: the site was surfacing against high-volume patient-intent queries like "dental implants" and "what is a surgical guide", where the searcher is a member of the public researching a procedure, not a dentist sourcing a manufacturer. The actual buyer pool is small, high-value, and specific: implant dentists evaluating whether to outsource guide design. That audience searches differently, using clinical language around guided implant surgery, full-arch workflows, CBCT planning, and turnaround. The problem was that a business selling a $150 clinical product to a professional audience was being measured, and optimised, against consumer search volume that would never convert.

Our Approach

The Strategy

STEP 01

Realigned targeting from patient intent to clinician intent

Rewrote titles, metadata, and page framing around the language dentists use when sourcing: guided implant surgery, dental implant surgical guide, CBCT-based planning, full-arch guided cases. Consumer-intent volume was allowed to fall away.

STEP 02

Positioned the founder as the differentiator

Every competing lab sells a technician-produced guide. Guided Excellence sells a guide personally reviewed by a practising implant dentist with 20 years of clinical experience. That distinction was made the spine of the content rather than a bio-page footnote.

STEP 03

Blog to video pipeline

Converted published content into narrated video and published to YouTube with full SEO treatment. This created an entirely new organic video channel for a technical B2B product where dentists evaluate workflow visually before submitting a first case.

STEP 04

Workflow and turnaround content

Dentists do not buy on features, they buy on whether it fits their chair schedule. Built content around the submission process, consultation step, planning turnaround, and shipping so the operational question was answered before the sales conversation.

STEP 05

Case-complexity coverage

Separated single implant, multi-unit restoration, and full-arch content, because a dentist evaluating a complex full-arch case has entirely different questions from one placing a single implant.

STEP 06

Internal linking silos

Routed technical and educational content into the case submission and pricing paths so research traffic had a commercial next step.

Average position slipped and the addressable audience has a hard ceiling.

Impressions grew only 17% while clicks grew 96%, and average position moved the wrong way, from 8.2 to 10.2. This was not a reach win, it was a relevance win, and those are different things worth being precise about. The uncomfortable part is the ceiling: there is a finite number of implant dentists in North America actively evaluating third-party guide manufacturers in any given quarter. No amount of content changes that. A B2B business with a narrow professional buyer pool will never produce the traffic curves a consumer site does, and promising otherwise would be dishonest. The right measure here is not sessions, it is case submissions per session, and the click-through improvement from 0.18% to 0.31% is the leading indicator that the traffic arriving is finally the traffic that can buy.
