SEO for a Regional Hospital Network
Regional hospital network local SEO case study: rebuilt a 41-site hospital network around service-line + neighborhood intent to grow booked web-originated appointments.
Cedarhill Regional Health
A Boise based regional hospital network with seven acute-care sites and 34 outpatient clinics across Idaho and eastern Oregon. Strong clinical reputation, weak local surface for the service-line + neighborhood queries patients ran.

The Challenge
Each hospital and clinic had a thin location page, GBPs were inconsistent across the 41 sites, no service-line + location content existed, and appointment booking sat behind a portal login.
Cedarhill Regional Health
Trusted network in the region, invisible on Google for the exact service-line queries patients searched.
The Strategy
Rebuilt GBP and citations across all 41 sites
Standardised GBP name, address, phone, hours, and service items across every hospital and clinic, and cleaned citations across health directories and insurance listings so the network parsed as one entity with 41 real locations.
Shipped a service-line x location template
Built dedicated pages for every service line the network delivered (cardiology, orthopedics, primary care, imaging, urgent care) crossed with every location, each with real physician profiles, insurance information, and wait-time context.
Automated post-visit reviews per site
Wired the EMR into a HIPAA-compliant post-visit review request that fired per site, with a private-feedback fallback routed to the site administrator.
Cut the appointment booking path in half
Replaced the portal-only booking flow with a lightweight 'request an appointment' widget on every service-line + location page that pre-filled into the EMR intake.

Duplicate GBPs across sites were splitting local authority.
Old employee-created GBPs still existed for several sites and were slowly outranking the real listings. I got 14 duplicates merged with Google support, migrated historical reviews cleanly, and the primary listings reclaimed their map pack positions inside seven weeks across the network.
For a network this size, marketing was still mostly billboards and print. Search now delivers more first-visit patients than any other outbound channel we run.
