About The Client

Blueridge Homes

A WordPress-based real estate marketplace headquartered in Denver, competing against much larger portals for national search share. Strong listing inventory across 47 metros, weak organic surface area.

The Challenge

The site had no programmatic template for city x property-type queries, and the existing pages were being cannibalised by category archives.

Ranking well in one metro, invisible in every other market they had inventory in.

Our Approach

The Strategy

STEP 01

Mapped the national keyword universe

Built a matrix of every metro x property-type x intent combination the inventory actually supported, and prioritised by search volume and business margin. 11,820 defensible page targets came out of it.

STEP 02

Shipped a programmatic template

Designed one WordPress template that generated unique-content city x property-type pages from real listing data - median price, days-on-market, sample listings, neighborhood context - not scraped copy.

STEP 03

Killed the cannibalisation

Consolidated overlapping category archives, added canonical rules, and cleaned up the internal link graph so the money pages could rank.

STEP 04

Earned links to the hub, not the spokes

Ran a national PR + data-story campaign pointed at hub pages, letting internal links push authority down to the programmatic pages.

Launching 11,800 pages at once tanked crawl budget.

The initial mass-launch meant Google only crawled a fraction of the new pages, and rankings stalled for three weeks. I had to phase the release into six waves prioritising the highest-margin metros first, and rebuild the sitemap structure so Google could actually see the inventory.

We used to compete for one city. Now we compete nationally, and organic is our cheapest channel by a wide margin.
