About The Client

S&R Trucking Inc.

A Canadian freight and logistics carrier operating since 1992, headquartered in Kleinburg, Ontario, and running a 75-acre Brampton terminal with 24/7 monitored surveillance, controlled access points, a concrete block perimeter, and dedicated container zones. The terminal sits minutes from the CN Brampton and CP Vaughan intermodal terminals, and daily operations at both are a core part of the service. Offerings span domestic rail and international harbour drayage, container transport, flatbed for oversized and heavy loads, full truckload, LTL, partial load solutions, and secure storage and warehousing. Every load moves on the company's own trucks with its own drivers, with no subcontractors, backed by 24/7 live dispatch, full cargo insurance, and a single dedicated coordinator per customer. CIFFA and UIIA certified. Serves the Greater Toronto Area, wider Ontario, Quebec, and cross-border United States routes via the Highway 401 and QEW corridors, across retail and eCommerce, manufacturing, food and beverage, importers and exporters, warehousing and distribution, automotive, and consumer goods.

The Challenge

Google Search Console recorded zero clicks and zero impressions across the entire prior 90-day period. Not low, zero. A carrier with a 75-acre secured terminal, an in-house fleet, CIFFA and UIIA certification, and daily CN and CP intermodal operations had no measurable search presence in a market where shippers routinely search for drayage, FTL, and container transport providers by service and region. The site itself told the story: the newest blog post was dated November 2019, and the testimonial carousel was still displaying the WordPress theme's placeholder lorem ipsum text with client photographs hotlinked from an external theme demo server. Every genuine competitive advantage the business had, the terminal, the certifications, the no-subcontractor model, the 24/7 dispatch, existed offline and nowhere else.

Our Approach

The Strategy

STEP 01

Technical launch and indexation

Established crawlability and indexation from a zero baseline so the site could enter the index at all, then built the service architecture the business actually sells against.

STEP 02

Service-level page architecture

Built dedicated coverage per freight service rather than a single services page: drayage, full truckload, LTL, partial load, flatbed, container transport, and storage. Shippers search by service type, so the pages had to match.

STEP 03

Ontario and GTA geographic targeting

Structured coverage for Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, and Markham, plus wider Ontario, Quebec, and cross-border corridors, because freight search is overwhelmingly region-qualified.

STEP 04

Terminal proximity as the differentiator

The 75-acre Brampton terminal minutes from CN Brampton and CP Vaughan is the single hardest thing for a competitor to replicate. Made intermodal proximity and terminal appointment expertise the core of the drayage and container content rather than a facilities footnote.

STEP 05

Industry vertical content

Built out the eight verticals the carrier serves, from retail and eCommerce container-to-warehouse work through automotive tier-1 inbound freight, so a shipper searching by their own industry found a page written for them.

STEP 06

Trust signals surfaced

CIFFA and UIIA certification, full cargo insurance, in-house fleet with no subcontractors, and 24/7 live dispatch were brought forward into the content and structured data, because in freight the buying decision is a risk decision.

The analytics were polluted, and I said so rather than using the bigger number.

Google Analytics recorded 1,868 total sessions for the period, of which 1,735 were Direct at a 95.4% bounce rate. That is not human traffic. It is almost certainly bot or referrer-spam activity, and using the 1,868 figure would have made this case study look roughly ten times better than it is. The honest number is 116 organic sessions at a 35.3% bounce rate, which is genuinely healthy engagement, just small. The second constraint: average position sits at 18.3, meaning most of the 16,013 impressions are still on page two. And the site content has not caught up with the search work. The blog's newest post is still dated November 2019 and the testimonial section is still running theme placeholder text. Search visibility was built faster than the credibility layer behind it, and until that is fixed, a shipper who arrives from a good ranking lands on a page that undercuts the thirty-four years of operating history the rankings were built to advertise.
