In short on the whole virtual world this G rules. Google’s pay per click service that is AdWords is most important marketing tool. Following are some facts which may allure website owners to think about to do SEO for Google.

  • 65.1% of total United States population use Google as primary search engine on their desktop devices.
  • About 98% of total mobile devices contribute in total search usage via Google.
  • YouTube which is a product of Google has achieved the rank #3 as a search engine
  • Of course Google itself holds the position 1st.
  • Google is a leader, still one in the market which is not beaten up yet.

But according to latest trends and news in the market Google is getting tough competition from social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter search engine like Bing and several mobile apps.

Website Rank Versus Google Page Rank

Ranking of website tells about its worth. Characters which decide this are traffic, reputation etc. But Google gives its own ranking to every webpage. Google gives page-rank to a page on a scale from 0 to 10 but this scale is non-linear which means that there is large difference from 5-6 than 3-4. The concept behind Google page-rank is its highly sophisticated automated system that goes through the vast universe of interlinking pages.  All in-links and out-links are checked out both qualitatively and quantitatively wise which decide the page ranking.

Though, in recent years by considering this as fundamental key point in SEO community, trade and selling of links became like a business. Links are votes

Getting links [vote] from high ranked website can that decide the site ranking. To overcome this Google recently has brought several changes in its algorithm. increase your site rank but if that link is irrelevant, then there will not be any increment in Google Page rank. For example a link from a comic website to real estate website will be considered as irrelevant and Google will not consider it while giving page rank on its scale.

To survive in the ever-changing Google world remember following points:

  • Google algorithm is not based upon just inbound links
  • To discourage monitoring on its algorithm Google changes its algorithm frequently.
  • It displays page rank value at infrequent intervals.
  • A high website rank does not guarantee a high Google page-rank.

For a successful SEO these can be considered as golden words:

“Produce content for your page visitors NOT for search engines”. They may change their algorithm but they cannot change a person’s interest. And after all Google is also a for-profit organization. Ultimately they will have to promote your site rank if customer is demanding it through his search.
